Argos Advanced Solutions Inc. · Hilliard, Ohio (Columbus region)
Deep tech in service of communities.
Argos Advanced Solutions Inc. builds biometric security, immersive training, and applied AI that help institutions make better decisions — and help the communities they serve grow stronger. From a heartbeat that becomes a credential, to VR that prepares peace officers and warfighters for their hardest moments, every Argos project starts with the same question: does this protect and empower people?

Intent
Why Argos exists
Founded and led in central Ohio, Argos pairs advanced technology with a human purpose. The company’s work concentrates in three disciplines that reinforce one another:
Security people can trust
Biometric authentication built on the one signal that can’t be photographed, copied, or shoulder-surfed — the human heartbeat. Identity with liveness built in, designed for zero-trust environments.
Training that transforms
Immersive VR/XR simulation with wearable biosensors, so peace officers, soldiers, and first responders can rehearse high-stress decisions safely — and measurably improve under pressure.
AI for social good
Applied and private AI that stays close to home: civic technology, transparent public-safety tools, and on-premise AI systems that let local organizations use modern intelligence without surrendering their data.
The goals
Argos’s near-term goals are concrete: bring HeartID to market through enterprise pilots and federal SBIR/STTR innovation programs; put field-ready tools like SoldierOCIE into the hands of the units that need them; grow the company on non-dilutive funding and disciplined, flat-fee services; and prove — project by project — that deep technology built in Ohio can strengthen the communities that build it. Building better decisions, stronger communities.
Traction
Earned, documented momentum
Grant receipts to date: $200,000 Ohio Third Frontier TVSF (HeartID) · $50,000 City of Hilliard Tech Grants (HeartID & Phantom Acquired) · $18,000 EC Innovate · $1,000 University of Dayton pitch win · $500 University of Akron entrepreneurship award (I-Corps Sites program, Spring 2025, completed). Also: backed by Rev1 Ventures · led by a founder with 25+ years of leadership and an active SECRET clearance. More at argosadvancedsolutions.com.
The portfolio
The projects
Every project below shares one architecture of purpose: sense something true about a person or a place, understand it responsibly, and turn it into a better decision.
HeartID / CardiacID
Your heartbeat is your credential.
HeartID authenticates people by the unique electrical signature of their own heart — a biometric with liveness verification built in, captured from an Apple Watch and iPhone. Where faces, fingerprints, and voices can be spoofed or can’t be exposed, the cardiac signal quietly proves both who you are and that you are alive and present. HeartID integrates with enterprise single sign-on (Microsoft Entra ID) and is aimed at zero-trust government and enterprise environments.
Proof: $200,000 Ohio Third Frontier TVSF Phase 2 award · $25,000 City of Hilliard Innovation Grant · live State of Ohio pilot · pursuing DoD SBIR/STTR (biometrics for multi-factor authentication).
Phantom Acquired
Pioneering the future of human performance enhancement.
A VR training simulator for peace officers and warfighters, paired with wearable biosensors that read stress in real time, a security-authentication software platform, and instrumented training weapons. Trainees don’t just run scenarios — they see how their body responded, and learn to perform under pressure.
Proof: $25,000 City of Hilliard Innovation Grant · University of Dayton Flyer Pitch award winner.
Argos Operations Center (AOC)
One operating picture.
The unifying layer of the Argos portfolio: a command-center platform that brings the company’s modules, data, and AI agents into a single, coherent view — so leaders see the whole field, not fragments. Featured on the official Argos site.
Status: in development — details at argosadvancedsolutions.com.
SoldierOCIE Management
Inventory that keeps up with the mission.
An offline-first mobile app that lets soldiers reconcile their issued equipment (OCIE) against DA Form 3645 in minutes, using on-device Vision OCR — no connectivity, no spreadsheets, no lost weekends. Built for unit pilots, with a path through Army innovation programs such as xTech and SBIR.
Status: near-shippable; unit pilots via TestFlight next.
Sentry Mobile
Civic trust, verified.
A secure mobile-voting and civic-participation platform that uses HeartID’s biometric verification to answer the hardest question in remote democracy: is this vote from a real, living, eligible person? Designed for the communities and organizations that need verifiable participation most.
Status: in development on the HeartID foundation.
Audio Safe
Sound stewardship, documented.
Audio Safe converts sound measurements — from phones, calibrated meters, and dosimeters — into simple, defensible safety, accessibility, and stewardship reports for churches, venues, and workplaces. Every report plainly states the quality of its data source, creating an honest path from screening to professional-grade monitoring. Privacy by design: levels and times are recorded, never audio.
Offered as: the Worship Sound Stewardship Assessment, a screening and stewardship service (not a compliance certification).
Everything But the Mission Sync
Readiness, coordinated.
A training-coordination tool for National Guard and Reserve units — keeping drill weekends, tasks, and readiness information synchronized between leaders and soldiers. Early-stage, born from the same soldier-first design instinct as SoldierOCIE.
Status: early development.
Services
Services that fund the mission
Alongside its products, Argos delivers three professional services — practical help today that finances the deep-tech work of tomorrow.
GrantAp
Grant writing and funding acquisition for small businesses, nonprofits, and innovators — including a free SBIR/STTR readiness assessment to see where you stand before you spend a dime.
Flat, fixed fees only — never a percentage of your award.
Divine Dollars
Faith-based financial wellness, rooted in the founder’s chaplaincy: stewardship workshops for churches and ministries, and one-on-one coaching that treats money as a matter of both math and meaning.
The natural bridge between Argos and DigitalChaplain.
Argos Local AI
Custom software and private, on-premise AI advisory for organizations that want modern AI capability without sending their data to someone else’s cloud — delivered as retainers and defined projects.
Your data stays yours.
Why Argos is on DigitalChaplain.com
Argos Advanced Solutions Inc. and DigitalChaplain share the same founder — Jim Locke III — and the same conviction: that technology, like ministry, is only worth doing when it serves people. The chaplain’s questions and the engineer’s questions turn out to be the same ones. Who is being protected? Who is being heard? Who is being left behind?
“Building better decisions, stronger communities.”
That is the through-line — from a heartbeat that safeguards an identity, to a simulator that steadies an officer’s judgment, to a workshop that steadies a family’s finances.
